Week 2 of the ACP's genre-tastic April and the focus is KUNG FU COMICS! Joined by Chris Imber (Reckless Hero), the comic book talk ventures far and wide, from the classic heroes of the 70s to the kinetic work of modern manga books. We kick off a whole month of talking about genre comics with a special look at GIANT MONSTERS! From King Kong to Godzuki, the ACP crew talk about all kinds of monsters in comics, helped by the creator of the awesome book Monstrosity, Zak Simmonds Hurn! There's talk of monsters in western and eastern cultures, classic bronze age creatures, the monsters of the big two and there's some poll results that bring up even more crazy and hilarious conversation. The answer to who would win out of Godzilla and King Kong is also answered in the style you come to expect from an Awesome Pod! The Awesome Pod crew are joined this week by Susie Gander, whose brilliant semi-autobiographical comic Perry Winkle not only helped her as she battled cancer, but is helping others too. She's also got the same sense of humour as the ACP gang, so there are crazy jokes and laughs flying in all directions! This week the ACP gang take on the topic of comics pricing! The price of digital, how overpriced some collections can be, the prices of small press books at conventions and getting your moneys worth all get discussed, as well as some interesting listener polls and emails get read. It's a topic that doesn't get discussed too much, especially by silly shows that make toilet humour seem high brow, but the ACP give it a good go. There's also the usual comics banter, great comics are discussed, the 80s movie quiz Action Dan gets interesting and there's the debut of a new, emotionally charged segment called 'Ask Aunty Tony'. Its another comical show on every level, so check it out!
