This week the Awesome Pod gang take some time to look at the legacy of one of comics greatest creators - Jack Kirby. From Marvel to DC and beyond, Kirby created some of the most memorable and creative comic characters and concepts there has been, and with his 100th birthday approaching, its definitely time for the awesome pod to give everyone their take on his work. Tony takes everyone on a journey through Jack's career, which leads to great conversation about the mans artwork and comic work. Whether you're a Kirby fan or someone new to his work, this is a show not to be missed.

Great stuff to check out this week: Jack Kirby, Jack Kirby:Storyteller, Jack Kirby: King of Comics, Jack Kirby covers, Comic Geek Speak Kirby SpecialMatt Harrower,

079 - THE BAD BOOK REVIEW CLUB (W / MATT HARROWER)

For the first show of 2017 the Awesome Pod are joined by brilliant up and coming artist Matt Harrower for a special show. For a bit of fun, everyone takes a look back on some old comics that came out in the 90s (an era with an overly harsh reputation) and give a new, fresh and hilarious take on them. Theres talk of crazy autobiographical music comics, the dark era of Spawn, some crazy sequential artwork, character designs/rip offs and so much more. It's also got more Rob Liefeld than you can shake a stick at! Its a fun show to kick off the new year so check it out!

Great stuff to check out this week: Weird Science DC podcast, Rock and Roll Comics, Youngblood, Captain America, Curse of Spawn
